Working Principle of Rotary Screw Air Compressor

As a high-efficiency air compression equipment, the core working principle of a rotary screw air compressor is through two carefully designed rotors - a male rotor (male rotor) and a concave rotor (female rotor) - inside the casing. Rotate to achieve air compression. The following is the working process of a rotary screw air compressor:

1. Suction stage: As the rotors rotate, specific grooves on them will pass through the suction port, thereby sucking in the surrounding air. These grooves continuously increase their internal volume as they rotate, effectively sucking in more air.

2. Compression stage: As the rotor continues to rotate, the volume of the groove that previously sucked in air will gradually shrink, causing the air in it to be compressed. In order to ensure the efficient compression process, specific lubricating oil will be injected into these compression chambers to seal and cool them.

3. Exhaust stage: When the specific position of the rotor (i.e. the meshing end face) is aligned with the exhaust port of the casing, the compressed air begins to be exhausted. This process will continue until the meshing surface of the rotor completely moves to the exhaust end surface, marking the end of a complete suction, compression, and exhaust cycle.

Rotary screw air compressors are popular mainly because they have a series of significant advantages, such as compact structure, small space occupation, high reliability due to no wearing parts, long service life and easy maintenance.
